- Etat Libre d'Orange—You Or Someone Like You
Mint, hedione and grapefruit. The weightless electric feeling of standing somewhere high before a decision that can't be undone.
- Ibraheem Al Qurashi—Spanish Tobacco
Saffron and tonka that warm you in, then something metallic and animalic surfaces underneath. The moment the water closes over your head.
- Acqua di Parma—Ambra
Ancient ambergris character, salty and alive in a way that has nothing to do with the beach. The smell of deep water and deep time.
- Amouage—Enclave
Cold spearmint giving way to burning mineral salt, the specific air of a desert cliff falling straight into the sea. Dry, pressurized, ancient.
- Zoologist—Portuguese Man o' War
Gunpowder opening into dark metallic seaweed and crushed geranium. The smell of a ship going down at night with nobody watching.
