About These Terms
These terms govern your use of thecuratednose.com and any purchase made through it. By placing an order, you agree to the terms set out here. Please read them before completing a purchase.
The Curated Nose is operated by Curated Nose LLC, located in Edmonds, WA. Questions may be directed to hello@curatednose.com.
What We Sell
Each Curated Nose exhibition is a limited edition set of fragrance samples, presented in vials with printed materials. Sets are produced in small quantities and may not be restocked once sold out.
Fragrance quantities, sample compositions, and exhibition availability are subject to change without notice.
Decanting Disclosure
The fragrances included in each set are sourced at retail from their original manufacturers or authorized retailers. They are authentic, unaltered, and decanted into vials by The Curated Nose.
The Curated Nose is an independent operation. It is not affiliated with, authorized by, endorsed by, or in any commercial relationship with the fragrance houses, brands, or perfumers whose work appears in its sets. Fragrance names and house names are used solely to identify the source of the juice — not to imply sponsorship, partnership, or brand approval.
This practice is consistent with lawful resale and repackaging under applicable first sale doctrine.
Orders and Payment
Orders are accepted through the website checkout. All prices are listed in USD and are inclusive / exclusive of applicable taxes.
An order confirmation does not constitute acceptance of your order. The Curated Nose reserves the right to cancel any order prior to shipment — for example, if a set sells out between your order and fulfillment, or if a payment cannot be verified. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.
Payment is processed through Shopify Payments. The Curated Nose does not store payment card information.
This site is hosted on Shopify Inc. Your data may be processed through Shopify's infrastructure, subject to Shopify's Privacy Policy.
Pre-Orders
Some exhibitions are offered as pre-orders and produced to order in limited quantities. Payment is collected in full at the time of purchase. Pre-orders close on the date listed on the product page; sets ship within the estimated window stated at time of purchase. If a run does not proceed for any reason, all orders are refunded in full to the original payment method. No partial fulfillment will be made.
Shipping
Sets ship from Edmonds, Washington. We currently ship to continental US only.
Shipping timelines are estimates and are not guaranteed. The Curated Nose is not responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs, or circumstances outside our control.
Risk of loss transfers to the buyer upon handoff to the carrier. If a package is lost or damaged in transit, contact us at contact@curatednose.com and we will do what we can to help.
Returns and Refunds
Due to the nature of fragrance samples, sets that have been opened are not eligible for return or exchange. This is a firm policy, not a starting point for negotiation — fragrance vials cannot be resealed, resold, or verified as unaltered once opened.
Unopened sets may be returned within 14 of delivery for a refund of the product price, minus original shipping costs. Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility.
To initiate a return, contact contact@curatednose.com before sending anything back. Unrequested returns will not be processed.
If a set arrives damaged or with a missing component, contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photograph of the issue. We will make it right.
Fragrance and Allergen Sensitivity
Fragrances contain complex chemical compounds that may cause reactions in some individuals, including skin irritation, allergic response, or respiratory sensitivity. This risk exists with all perfumery, including luxury and natural compositions.
Before wearing any sample, test on a small piece of paper first. Then, a small area of skin. Do not apply to broken or sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children.
If you have known fragrance allergies or sensitivities, please consult the ingredient information available from the originating house before purchasing. The Curated Nose cannot provide complete ingredient lists beyond what is publicly disclosed by each brand.
By purchasing, you acknowledge that you are responsible for assessing your own sensitivities. The Curated Nose is not liable for adverse reactions.
Intellectual Property
The Curated Nose name, logotype, editorial text, sequencing materials, and printed components are original works. They may not be reproduced, repurposed, or distributed without permission.
Third-party fragrance names, brand names, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are referenced here only for identification purposes.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, The Curated Nose's liability in connection with any purchase is limited to the amount paid for that purchase. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Washington, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from a purchase will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Washington.
Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
